Question : Implementation of IHSDP in Bihar

(a) whether Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) has been implemented in Bihar and if so, the details thereof;

(b) The amount provided to Bihar under the said programme during the last three years, year-wise; and

(c) the progress report received from Bihar in this regard and the reaction of the Government thereon?

(a) to (c): The period of Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) which was a component of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) launched in December 2005 was upto 31 March 2012.However, in order to complete the on-going projects sanctioned upto 31.03.2012, the period was extended upto March 2017.

Under IHSDP, 30 projects were sanctioned in the State of Bihar for construction of 23,945 houses involving Central Assistance of Rs.330.81 crore which was released in full to the State Government. Of the central assistance, Rs.1.40 crore was released during year 2016-17. No Central Assistance was required to be released during the years 2017-18 and 2018-19. As reported by the State, 23,277 houses have been completed and occupied by the beneficiaries.
