Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT
(SHRIMATI MANEKA SANJAY GANDHI)

(a) & (b) The Scheme for Universalisation of Women Helpline is being implemented from 1st April, 2015 to provide 24 hour emergency and non-emergency response to women affected by violence both in public and private sphere, including in the family, community, workplace etc. The funds have been sanctioned to 33 States/UTs for setting up Women Helplines. As the scheme is at the nascent stage of operationalisation at the field level, no such data regarding number of women benefitted on these helplines are available.

(c) & (d) No such data is maintained at central level as the scheme is being implemented by States/UTs Government and they are required to outsource activities/staff for smooth functioning of Women Helpline as per their local requirement.

(e) Apart from the above, Ministry of Women and Child Development is also implementing Scheme of One Stop Centre for Women since 1st April 2015for facilitating/providing medical aid, police assistance, legal counselling/court case management, psycho-social counselling and temporary shelter to women affected by violence.
