Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the objectives and salient features of Poshan Abhiyan along with the present status of its development and implementation;
(b) the details of the funds sanctioned, allocated and utilized under this Abhiyan during the last three years, State/UT-wise including Assam and West Bengal;
(c) the details of the target set and achievements made so far under the scheme;
(d) the details of the beneficiaries benefitted under the scheme;
(e) whether the Government is able to meet the set target under the scheme and if so, the details thereof and if not, the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) POSHAN Abhiyaan aims to improve nutritional indicators of women and children by leveraging technology, encouraging Jan Bhaagidari and establishing convergence with other schemes and programmes with similar and supporting objectives. The Abhiyaan also aims to ensure an enabling environment for better nutritional management in partnership with all stakeholders.

(b) Details of the funds released and utilized under POSHAN Abhiyaan during the last three Years, State/UT-wise including Assam and West Bengal are at Annexure. (West Bengal has chosen not to participate in Poshan Abhiyan)

(c) to (e) POSHAN Abhiyaan is an overarching scheme and a multi-ministerial convergence mission to improve nutritional outcomes. Based on a review and evaluation of POSHAN Abhiyaan, steps have been taken for course correction to ensure nutritional quality, strengthen delivery mechanisms, introduce transparency and leverage
technology for improving governance.
