Question : INCOME FROM AGRICULTURE



(a) whether the income derived from agriculture is far less in several States of the country in comparison to the national average;

(b) if so, whether the Government proposes to formulate any concrete scheme to increase the income of farmers in the said States;

(c) if so, the time by which the said scheme is likely to be implemented; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The State-wise Gross Domestic Product/income from Agriculture and Allied Sector, per capita income of the cultivators and its variation from the national average is at Annexure-I.

(b) & (c): The Government of India has launched several schemes in consultation with states to increase investments in agricultural sector, for accelerating agricultural growth and income of farmers. Some of the major Schemes are:
1. Rashtriya Kristi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)
2. National Food Security Mission (NFSM)
3. Development and Strengthening of Infrastructure Facilities for Production and Distribution of Quality Seed
4. National Horticulture Mission (NHM)
5. Integrated Oilseeds, Oil Palm, Pulses and Maize (ISOPOM)
6. Gramin Bhandaran Yojana

(d): Question does not arise.
