Question : Shortage of Skilled Manpower

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government had contemplated to start nursing courses in almost all Sadar hospitals to overcome the acute shortage of skilled manpower in health sector;

(b) if so, the names of Sadar hospitals and other hospitals where nursing training centres have been set up in Bihar during the last year and the current year;

(c) whether the Government has linked the nursing training centres with hospitals to impart training to the nurses during their studies to create better skilled manpower; and

(d) whether the Government proposes to set up a nursing college equipped with complete infrastructure in Siwan district of Bihar?

(a): No.
(b): List of Nursing Institutes set up in Sadar Hospitals and other Government Hospitals during 2018-19 and current year for running Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife (ANM) programme and General Nursing Midwives (GNM) programme in the State of Bihar is annexed.
(c): As per guidelines of Indian Nursing Council, it is essential for nursing training centres to have affiliation with parent hospital/ district hospitals.
(d): No such proposal has been received in this Ministry.
