Question : JOINT EXECUTIVE MBA PROGRAMME



(a) whether the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) have launched a Joint Executive Master of Business Admini-stration (MBA) programme;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the salient features of the programme; and

(c) the status of the degree to be conferred under this new programme and the extent to which the executives are likely to be benefited by the said programme?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay and the Washing-ton University in St. Louis (WUSTL) have launched a Joint Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme on June 30, 2014, to be offered in 2015. The salient features of the programme are as under:

(i) The new programme is the first of its kind to confer an Executive MBA degree from both an Indian and an American University.
(ii) This Executive MBA programme is meant for the executives, professionals and entrepreneurs with a minimum 7 years of experience of quality.
(iii) The curriculum of the programme is rooted around the leadership development and innovation.
(iv) Faculty from the IIT Bombay`s Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management and WUSTL`s Olin Business School will be jointly offering the courses.
(v) Apart from teaching business fundamentals, it will address leadership, strategic management, growth and innovation.
(vi) The programme will be spread over a duration of 18 months, where classes will be offered four days per month in Mumbai and it will end with a two-week capstone experience at the Washington University.

(c): The MBA degree will be conferred to these executives jointly by IIT-Bombay and WUSTL. The participants will benefit personally and professionally in enhancing their knowledge to enable them being responsible innovative global leaders of tomorrow.
