Question : NEET and JEE Exams

(a) whether it is true that Government has proposed to have new biannual
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test especially the provision of eight different
time slots and as many different question papers with different difficulty levels;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether it is also true that the fully online test will load the examination
against students from rural and poor background and if so, the details thereof;
and
(d) whether it is also true that the Government is considering to entrust the job of
conducting NEET to an external body and the details thereof?

(a) to (d): The Government has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an
autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance
examinations, which were being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or any other
test entrusted to it. These include, inter-alia, JEE (MAIN) and National Eligibility
cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG. NTA will conduct the UGC-NET in December, 2018
and other examinations from 2019 onwards in multiple sittings and twice a year in
order to give adequate opportunity to students to bring their best. The examinations
will be computer based for which a network of test practice centers will be
established, especially for aspirants from rural areas to acquaint them with the
computer based tests. However, final decision in this regard will be announced soon.
The pattern of question paper, syllabus, examination fee and the existing number of
languages in which the exams are conducted will remain same.
