(a) & (b) : Under Nirbhaya Fund, the schemes/ projects worth Rs. 9549.04 crore have been appraised till date by the Empowered Committee (EC). An amount of Rs.6212.85 crore (including Rs.500 crore allocated to the Ministry of Women and Child Development in the financial year 2021-22) has been allocated and an amount of Rs.4241.91 crore has been disbursed/ released by the concerned Ministries/ Departments, which is 68.27% of the total fund allocated.
(c): The number and details of projects/ schemes appraised under Nirbhaya Framework since its inception, year-wise and State-wise including the State of Maharashtra, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh are at Annexure.
(d) & (e): The data of number of CCTVs installed by the States/ Local Bodies as a part of Nirbhaya projects, are not centrally maintained. The installation of CCTVs aims at reducing the incidence of crimes against women as their footages are frequently used as tools for investigation of such crime.
