(a): Yes Sir. Khadi and Village Industry Commission (KVIC), promotes Khadi and Village Industry (KVI) programmes through Khadi Institutions and entrepreneurs in the country. There is an increasing trend in production and sale of KVI products during the last three years and the current year (upto 31.12.2021) as may be seen from figures given below:

(b): Yes Sir. KVIC has supplied KVI products to various organizations of the State Governments through its Departmental Khadi Gramodyog Bhavans (KGBs). KGBs-wise value of supply of Khadi products to the State Government Organizations during current year is as follows:

(c): State-wise disbursement of funds (Govt. of India budgetary support) under Khadi and Village Industries sector during last three years and current year are annexed.
(d): KVIC has no Departmental Khadi Research & Development (R&D) Centre anywhere in the country. However, KVIC implements its R&D activities through premier Research Institutions and Khadi Institutions across the country by extending financial assistance to carry out the R&D /Dissemination projects in the Khadi Sector. The Research Institutions that have undertaken projects under R&D Khadi during last five years are Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi, Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI)-Wardha, Vivekananda Institute of Bio Technology-West Bengal, four Khadi Institutions (1. Khadi Gramodyog Prayog Samiti-Ahmedabad, 2. Udyog Bharati Gondal-Ahmedabad, 3. Kshetriya Punjab Khadi Mandal-Mohali, 4. Khestriya Shree Gandhi Ashram-Akbarpur, Varanasi) and others.
(e): KVIC had been catering to the needs of Government Departments and bulk buyers such as Railways, Defence, Health & Family Welfare Departments, Paramilitary Forces and other Central Ministries & State Government Departments to increase the sale of Khadi products categorized under Rate Contract (RC) and Non-Rate Contract (Non-RC) by Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D) till 30.6.2017. With the introduction of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal from 1.7.2018, KVIC has uploaded 26 varieties of Khadi items on the GeM portal.
During 2020-21, the total supplies to various Government Departments /Agencies under RC and Non-RC items are as follows:
