Improvement works like widening, strengthening, riding quality, construction of bridges etc. estimated to cost Rs. 3051.47 crore are proposed to be undertaken on National Highways in the country during 2001-2002 as per state-wise details annexed. It is too early to indicate the provisions in the Annual Plan for the year 2002-2003.
