Question : PROPOSALS FOR GRANT



(a) whether a number of proposals from the Chhattisgarh Government under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for grant to the training and assistance centres for the poor people belonging to the tribal, backward classes and minority communities were lying pending;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the time by which these proposals are likely to be cleared by the Union Government?

MINISTER OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI JUAL ORAM)

(a) & (b) The State Government of Chattisgarh has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Research & Training for `Protection of Tribal Culture, Research Training & Development` in the last quarter of the last financial year 2001-2002. Beside, this four different proposals have also been forwarded by the Government of Chattisgarh to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment under the centrally sponsored Scheme of Coaching & Allied Assistance for Weaker sections including SCs, OBCs and Minorities during the current financial year 2002-2003 under which grants-in-aid are provided to Pre-Examination Training Centres.

(c) It is not possible to indicate a precise time frame within which a decision will be taken on these proposals.
