Question : Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme

(a) whether the Government proposes to include urea under Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme, if so, the details thereof;

(b) the details of the amount of subsidy offered on Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium and Sulphur and Urea fertilizer from 2010 to 2021 under the NBS Scheme;

(c) whether the Government has conducted any scientific study to assess the soil condition and yield of the crops of the farmers who are using completely neem coated urea from 2015 to 2021, if so, the outcome of the study; and

(d) whether the Government has adequate stocks of fertilizers Diammonium Phosphate(DAP), Murate of Potash(MoP) and Urea for upcoming 2021-2022 Rabi crop, if so, the details of the current stocks of above mentioned
fertilizers and if not , the reasons therefor?

(a): No, Sir. There is no such proposal.

(b): The details of the amount of subsidy offered on P&K fertilizers under the NBS scheme are attached as annexure.

(c): Yes, Sir. As per the final report prepared by Agricultural Development and Rural Transformation Centre (ADRTC), Bengaluru, Neem Coated Urea has led to:

(i) Improvement in soil quality.

(ii) Decrease in cost of pest & disease control and weed management.

(iii) Improvement in the yield of all crops and their by-products.

(iv) Highest incremental income in case of tur, followed by sugarcane, soybean, paddy, jute and maize crops.

(d): Yes, Sir. The Government has adequate stock of fertilizers (DAP, MOP & Urea) available at state level in the country for the ongoing Rabi 2021-22 season. The details are as under:
