Question : Revenue earned by Private Companies

(a) total funds spent by the Government on various OMCs including private companies on the exploration of gas during the last three years and the current year;
(b) the revenue earned by the private companies by selling gas produced therefrom during the said period company-wise;
(c) whether the responsibility of selling the gas so explored has been handed over/given to the private companies; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor along with the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a): Government does not provide any fund/grant for Exploration and Production (E&P) activities. E&P activities are carried out by companies/contractors at their own cost.
(b): Revenue earned by the Private & JV companies by selling of gas produced by them is as under:-

(c) and (d): Under the Production Sharing Contract the contractor is required to sell the gas in the domestic market as per Guideline for Allocation/Supply of Domestic Natural Gas, issued by the Government from time to time.
