Question : FUNDS FOR MONUMENTS



(a) whether the Government has proposed to allocate more funds for centrally protected monuments in the coming years in order to enhance tourism activities in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise including Karnataka;

(c) the details of allocations of funds made for the centrally protected monuments during the last three years in Karnataka, circle-wise; and

(d) the Government’s plan for improvement of monuments in Karnataka?

(a) & (b): Requisite funds are allocated for the conservation of centrally protected monuments and hey are in good state of preservation. The details of allocation of funds for the current financial year is at Annexure – I.

(c) & (d): Conservation work of the protected monuments in Karnataka is attended regularly depending upon the availability of resources and need of repairs at site. The details of allocation/expenditure incurred for conservation of monuments in Karnataka during the last three years, circle-wise, is at Annexure –II.
