(a) to (c): It was proposed to set apart a sum of Rs.500 crore to tackle special problems in Arunachal
Pradesh and the border areas in the North Eastern Region, in the Budget speech for 2008-09. An additional
amount of Rs.86.20 crore has been approved for undertaking projects in the North Eastern Region.
Funds are also provided for the development of North Eastern Region from the Non-Lapsable Central
Pool of Resources (NLCPR). Further, a package of Rs.500 crore and an additional package of Rs.250
crore, have been announced for the development of the socio-economic infrastructure in Bodo Territorial
Council (BTC) areas of Assam. An amount of Rs.6581.50 crore has been released upto 31.03.2010 from the
NLCPR and the BTC packages.
