(a) Films Division encourages film makers, particularly those graduated from the
Film & Television Institute of India of and other film schools, by assigning them films as
and when worthwhile proposals on socio economic, cultural and educational subjects are
received and approved.
(b) The details are given in Annexure-I.
(c) Films Division produces films of national and public interest on subjects like
communal harmony, national integration, prohibition, family welfare, environment,
agriculture, science and technology, current history, rural development, social welfare,
industry, human and child welfare, defence etc. The National Film Development
Corporation and Children`s Film Society also produce films on social themes. Besides,
the Directorate of Film Festivals organizes National Film Festival every year fwhere
awards are given in various categories.

2. Unutilised grant of Rs.29,71,199.90 was carried forward to the next financial
year i.e., 1999-2000.
3. Unspent balance of Rs.1,48,49,000.00 as on March 31, 2000 will be utilized
during the financial year 2000-2001.
