Question : All India Radio Station

(a) whether there is only one All India Radio Station in the Parliamentary Constituency Rajgarh which broadcasts Vividh Bharati service only in the range of 35 Km. in the morning from 6 AM to 10 AM;
(b) whether the Government proposes to increase the broadcast time and the area covered by the said station for the broadcast which will enable reach of innovative schemes of governance (State and Centre) to the masses through effective means by production and broadcast of interesting programs in the local Malvi langauge and ultimately attaining the relevance of All India Radio (AIR) Center as most of the people in the said Parliamentary Constituency are engaged in agricultural work, the region has rich historical, religious, cultural heritage and it is the birthplace and work place of many great personalities, national and international artists as per the needs of the present times; and
(c) whether the Government proposes to upgrade the AIR Center in the public interest by fulfilling the aspirations of the people in the said Parliamentary Constituency?

(a) to (c) Prasar Bharati is currently having one Akashwani Station operational at Rajgarh, broadcasting Vividh Bharati National Service (VBNS) from 0555 Hrs to 1200 Hrs from 3 KW FM transmitter at 100.7 MHz. In addition, part of the Parliamentary Constituency Rajgarh is also covered by 10 KW FM transmitters at Guna (at 102.3 Mhz), Jhalawar (at 103.2 MHz) & Bhopal (at 103.5 MHz).
It is also covered by Medium Wave transmitter at AIR Indore. Various programmes in Malvi and Nimadi dialects are carried by AIR Indore in their transmission which is available in Rajgarh on Medium Wave at 648 KHz frequency.
The increase of duration of transmission and upgradation of AIR stations including AIR Rajgarh depends upon inter-se-priorities and availability of resources.
In addition, Prasar Bharati has provided more than 270 AIR channels including 17 channels originating from various AIR stations in Madhya Pradesh on its “newsonAIR” mobile application for “android” and “iOS” platforms for mobile users.
