MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS
(SHRI AJAY KUMAR MISHRA)

(a) to (c): A Statement is laid on the Table of the House.

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN THE REPLY TO THE STARRED QUESTION NO. *36 FOR REPLY ON 30 NOVEMBER 2021
(a): The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) compiles and publishes statistical data on accidents and suicides in its publication “Accidents and Suicides in India”. As per the published reports, a total of 9052 business persons committed suicide in the year 2019 and a total of 11,716 business persons committed suicides in the year 2020.
(b): Such an inference may not be possible since the NCRB report does not categorize the suicide data separately for business persons from micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
(c) Does not arise in view of reply to part (b).
