Question : Urban Development Schemes

(a) the details of urban development schemes for tier 3-4 cities like Satara and Karad under which the Government has allocated funds to various States, particularly Maharashtra along with the details of funds allocated there under during the last three years;

(b) the details of the schemes that are fully and partially funded by the Government, separately; and

(c) the details of role played by the Union Government, the State Governments and local bodies in selection of such schemes and finalizing expenditure to be incurred thereon?

(a) to (c) Urban Development is a State subject. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) assists the States / Union Territories (UTs) in urban development through its Missions / Schemes- Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, Smart Cities Mission (SCM), Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U) 2.0, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) and schemes in Urban Transport. The Government extends Central Assistance (CA) for implementation of these Schemes to the extent specified in the Guidelines of the respective Schemes with the remaining being contributed by States /UTs / Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). The details of these Schemes with the status of funds allocated during the last three years are given in the Annexure.
