Question : Treatment of Wild Animals

(a) whether it is true that there are lapses in providing treatment to wild animals and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government has ordered an enquiry into the alleged lapses in the treatment of wild animals kept in captivity by the Forest Department; and
(c) if so, the details and present status thereof?

(a)Protection of wild animals is the responsibility of the concerned State Forest Department. This Ministry has not received any reports of lapses in providing treatment to wild animals.

(b)&(c) In view of (a) above, question does not arise.
