Question : VACANT RESERVED POSTS FOR OBCS



(a) the number of posts sanctioned for the various Ministries/Departments and other subordinate offices and the number of posts on which the persons of Other Backward Classes have been recruited on the basis of open examination in General Category, grade-wise;

(b) the number of officers/employees of Other Backward Classes appointed upto 30 March 2000 after the implementation of new reservation policy;

(c) whether complaints have been received in regard to not filling up the reserved posts for the candidates of Other Backward Classes; and

(d) if so, the steps proposed to be taken by the Government for filling up the reserved posts of Other Backward CLasses?

(a): Information is not centrally maintained.

(b): As per tentative figures received from most of the Ministries/Departments, 1,23,911 OBCs were recruited till 30.4.1998

(c) & (d): Implementation of the reservation policy is the responsibility of each administrative Ministry/Department. Complaints in regard to non-filling up of reserved posts are also looked into by the concerned Ministry/Department.
