Question : PMAY Houses in Maharashtra

(a) the details of the houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Maharashtra since June, 2015, the inception of said yojana district-wise;

(b) the details of the targets set by the Government for 2020 and 2021; and

(c) whether any Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Union Government and the State Government under PMAY and if so, the details of MoU and status of its implementation?

(a) Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY(U)], 11,95,425 houses have been sanctioned out of which 5,03,959 houses have been grounded for construction of which 3,03,749 have been completed/delivered to the beneficiaries in Maharashtra under PMAY(U) since inception of the scheme in June, 2015. District-wise details of houses constructed in Maharashtra are at Annexure - I.

(b) No year-wise targets are fixed under PMAY(U). The Mission guidelines provide flexibility to States/ Union Territories (UTs) for appraising and approving project proposals based on demand assessed and to approach the Ministry for release of Central assistance for projects approved at the State level.

(c) Yes, Sir. A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between Government on India and State Government of Maharashtra on 22.12.2015 in the format prescribed in the scheme guidelines. As per MoA, the central assistance is being released to the State and the State is implementing the scheme as per PMAY(U) guidelines. So far, central assistance of Rs.18,752.73 crore has been sanctioned and an amount of Rs.6,145.30 crore has been released to the State under PMAY(U).
