(a) whether the United States Agencies for International Development has revealed
that manufacturing of about 50 per cent of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) bulbs in
India are harmful for environment;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto;
(c) whether various South Asian Countries have propose any uniform benchmark for CFL bulbs;
(d) if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether environmentalists in the country are also working on this project;
(f) if so, the details thereof; and
(g) the time by which new benchmark for CLF bulbs will be finalized?
