(a) As on date, out of 13,99,697 sanctioned Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), 13,77,595 AWCs are operational across the country. The details of AWCs having separate kitchen facility is not maintained at central level. State-wise details of sanctioned and operational Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) is at Annexure-I.
(b) State-wise details of number of children visiting the Anganwadi Centres and availing the benefits of the Scheme in year 2017-18 is at Annexure-II.
(c) Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) is a non-formal education provided at the AWCs to children (3-6 years) as a part of Anganwadi Services.
(d) State-wise number of AWCs running from rented premises is at Annexure-I.
(e) Out of the total operational AWCs, 10,14,655 AWCs are having toilet facilities. The data regarding water availability in toilets is not maintained centrally at the level of Ministry.
(f) Under Convergence with MGNREGS, funds for construction of 29,941 AWC buildings during 2015-16 and for construction of 81,447 AWC buildings during 2016-17 were released to States/UTs. Further, a budget provision of Rs.735.75 crore has been made for construction of 58,670 AWC buildings in APIP 2019-20. The State-wise budget provision made for 2019-20 is at Annexure-III.
