Question : INCREASE IN GRANTS UNDER IHSDP



(a) the details of States where Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) has been implemented;

(b) whether a grant of Rs. 1.81 lakh was sanctioned under this scheme for housing to urban poors living below poverty line;

(c) whether the sanctioned amount is sufficient to build adequate housing facility for grantees; and

(d) if not, whether the Government proposes to enhance this amount to Rs. 3 lakh and if so, the time by which it is likely to be done?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING & URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION (SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO)

(a) Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) has been implemented in all States/UTs except Delhi, Goa and Lakshadweep till 31.03.2012. Mission period has been extended till 31.03.2015, only to complete projects sanctioned till 31.03.2012.

(b) & (c) Ceiling cost for Dwelling Unit (DU) under IHSDP was Rs. 1.00 lakh for the purpose of determining Central share. Central assistance was 80% of ceiling cost and for special category and hilly states central share was 90%. For special category and hilly States, 12.5% additional per unit cost with proportional Central Share was approved. States/UTs/ULBs had the freedom to fix higher unit cost and to meet the additional cost on its own.

(d) No Madam. The extended period of JNNURM Mission for completing ongoing projects is ending on 31st March 2015.
