(a) Yes Madam. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Seasonal Outlook for the Temperatures during the Cold Weather Season (December 2016 – February 2017) for the forthcoming winter season on 1st December, 2016.
(b) The outlook suggests:
• During the 2016/2017 cold weather season, temperatures (mean, maximum and minimum) in all the sub-divisions are likely to be warmer than normal.
• Minimum temperatures in the core cold waves zone (Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Orissa and Telangana and met subdivisions of Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Madhya Maharashtra) during the 2016/2017 cold weather season is likely be above normal.
