Question : Fully Vaccinated Persons

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) the target set by the Government to fully vaccinate i.e. administer both doses of COVID vaccines by December 2021;
(b) the number of daily doses required to be administered to achieve this target;
(c) the number of vaccine doses administered each day in 2021;
(d) the number of people in the country who are fully vaccinated and the number of people who have received one dose of the vaccine till date; and
(e) the time by which the Government intends to reach 100 percent vaccination in the country?

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE

(a) & (e): The projected population of 18+ year persons in the country is 94 crore. The COVID-19 vaccination is an ongoing and dynamic process, which is being guided by National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) on the basis of concurrent scientific evidence. It is expected that eligible beneficiaries aged 18 years and above will be vaccinated by December 2021.
Government of India regularly reviews the progress of COVID-19 vaccination drive in all States/UTs to expedite its progress.
The average daily vaccinations have shown significant increase from an average of 2.35 lakh doses in January to 39.89 lakh doses average per day in June.
Till 26th July 2021, a total of 43.51 crore doses has been administered, out of which a total of 34.18 crore beneficiaries have received one dose and 9.33 crore beneficiaries have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
