(a) the total number of SC,ST, MBC, OBC and BC students who appeared for IIT-Entrance examination and the percentage of those students managed to clear them categorized by community;

(b) the total number of SC, ST, MBC, OBC and BC students from Tamil Nadu who managed to clear the IIT Entrance examinations & secured admission

(c) the total number of SC, ST, MBC,OBC, BC students across India who managed to clear the IIT-Entrance examination but were unable to secure admission/ unable to take up admission and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether the Government has taken steps to provide access to coaching facilities to poor and underprivileged students from marginalised communities, and if so the details thereof?

(c ) The total number of General, SC,ST, OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS students across India who managed to clear the IIT-Entrance examination JEE (Advanced) 2020 but were unable to secure admission/ unable to take up admission is given below.

The students from respective categories who cleared JEE (Advanced) 2020, but were not allocated a seat in IITs could be because of the following reasons –
i. They did not participate in JoSAA-2020, or did not complete formalities for seat confirmation (payment of fees, document upload etc.) or withdrew from the process during counseling .
ii. They were allocated a seat in NIT+ system during the joint seat allocation process.
iii. There were other candidates who secured higher ranks than these candidates in respective categories and got allocated the existing seats based on merit.

(d) In the interest of students including the most disadvantaged, Government has launched Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM), which offers interactive course content such as video lectures, reading material, self-assessment through tests and quizzes and online discussion forum for clearing doubts for students from Class 9 to postgraduation. The content can be accessed free of cost by anyone, anywhere at any time. Another initiative of the Government called Indian Institute of Technology - Professor Assisted Learning (IIT-PAL) which provides video content in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics prepared by IIT Professors and Kendirya Vidyalaya (KV) teachers for Class XI and Class XII students aspiring to join IITs and other Institutions. The content is available free of cost on dedicated DTH channels of SWAYAM PRABHA.
