Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI UPENDRA KUSHWAHA)
(a) : As per last year practice some students had applied for verification of marks and photocopy of answer scripts
online. Since the process of verification and photocopy is still going on, details can be provided after completion
of the process.
(b): There have been some variations in totaling of marks during verification of marks/scrutiny which has been
communicated to the students and revised marks statement issued. This year total No. 106981 cases of
Verification of Marks has been received in all the 10 Regions of the Board. The said variations are due to totaling
of marks, posting of marks, unassessed portion, transfer of marks from inside the answer book to the main cover
page.
(c) : There is no such proposal before the Government (Ministry of Human Resource Development). However, the
Central Board of Secondary Education has formed two Committees for bringing in systematic reform in pre and
post examination.
(d): The revaluation system was started in 2014 and was in vogue in 2014, 2015 and 2016. This was scrapped as
per the decision of the Board’s Examination Committee dated 13.05.2016 and Governing Body dated 29.06.2016,
for 2017 examination & onwards since the changes were minuscule. However, orders of the Hon’ble Court
directing scrutiny has been complied.
(e) : It has been stated by CBSE that no such request has been received from National Progressive Schools
Conference in this regard.
