Question : Implementation of National Health Mission in Kerala

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the funds allocated to State of Kerala under the National Health Mission (NHM) since its inception;

(b) whether the Government proposes to allocate more funds to strengthen the NHM in Kerala;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the details of funds allotted/spent in Idukki District, Kerala under NHM during the last two years?

ANSWER

(a): Under National Health Mission (NHM) funds to the tune of Rs.6,222.51 crore have been released to the State of Kerala since its inception (year 2005 when NRHM was launched) till 31.10.2019.
(b) & (c): Under NHM, the allocation of funds has been done as per the formula approved by the Mission Steering Group (MSG). However, the States can receive more funds by way of Incentivisation based on fulfilment of Programme Implementation Plan conditionalities.
(d): Under NHM the Central Grants are released to State Governments for implementation of the Programmes. Subsequently, the States release funds to Districts and Other agencies for implementation of the Programmes. As reported by the State of Kerala, the details of funds allocated and spent in Idukki District, Kerala for the last two years under NHM is annexed.
