(a): whether the Government proposes to invest in khadi sector in the country including Orissa during the Tenth Five Year Plan;
(b): if so, the amount proposed for investment in each State; and
(c): the details of rural industries to be set up in khadi sector in Orissa in particular and the country in general during the said period, State-wise?

(a): Yes Sir, The Government allocates funds to Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for implementing various schemes directly or through the State Khadi and Village Industries Boards (KVIBs) in all states including Orissa.
(b): During the Tenth Five Year Plan, the Government has allocated Rs.2080 crores for the promotion of Khadi and Village Industries (KVI) sector in the country. State-wise fund disbursed to State /UTs under KVI sector during the first two years of Tenth Plan including Orissa is given at Annexure-I.
(c): During the first two years of Tenth Five year Plan, a total of 1699 projects have been set-up under Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) in Orissa against 45771 projects set up in the country. The details are given at Annexure-II. The state-wise number of rural industries to be set up in Khadi sector during the remaining period of the Tenth Plan including Orissa are given at Annexure-III.
