(a) the number of foreign students applied for higher education in India during the last three years;
(b) the number of foreign students given admission every year for higher education in the country alongwith their country-wise strength; and
(c) the names of the countries wherefrom the students visit India for higher education?
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (SHRI M.A.A. FATMI):
(a) No such statistics on foreign students applying for higher education in India is
maintained by the Government of India.
(b) and (c) As per information furnished by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU),
a statement showing enrolment of foreign students (country-wise and region-wise) for the
last 3 years in Indian universities is enclosed.
