Question : GUIDELINES FOR MARATHI AND TELUGU FILMS



(a) whether the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has received suggestions with regard to releasing of Marathi and Telugu films during the last year and current year;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the response of the Government thereto;

(c) whether the Government proposes to issue a new guidelines for release of Marathi and Telugu films;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): No, Madam. Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not received any suggestions with regard to releasing of Marathi and Telugu films. The releasing of films is beyond the scope and functioning of CBFC. CBFC certifies films in accordance with the provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 1983 and guidelines issued thereunder.

(b) to (e): Do not arise.
