Question : COMPOSITE PARKING POLICY



(a) whether the Union Government is considering formulating a comprehensive composite parking policy for multi-level parking lots to deal with the parking woes of the National Capital;

(b) if so, whether any action plan has been prepared by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Development Authority for multi-level parking lots in the congested, commercial complexes in various parts of the city;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the details of any alternative plan contemplated by the Union Government for parking of vehicles?

(a): To address the issue of parking in Delhi, the draft Master Plan for Delhi 2021 has made provisions for multi level parking with specific development control norms.

(b)&(c): The DDA has reported to have identified 29 sites which would generate 29,000 Equivalent Car Parking space in Delhi. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have also reported identification of three sites each. MCD has also reported to have engaged consultants for considering feasibility of constructing multi level parkings at 5 more sites.
