Question : ASSISTANCE UNDER JNNURM

(a) the details of the projects undertaken for developing cities/towns of the country for which the Union Government has provided assistance under the Centrally-sponsored Scheme, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) city/town-wise;

(b) the details of work reviewed and the progress made on each project/scheme during each of the last three years and the current year, State-wise; and

(c) the funds sanctioned/released and utilised under various components of the JNNURM during the said period, city/town-wise?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT (SHRI SAUGATA ROY)

(a) to (c): Details of projects sanctioned city-wise under Urban Infrastructure & Governance (UIG) of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission(JNNURM) containing Additional Central Assistance (ACA) committed and released for utilisation is at annexure-I. Details of projects sanctioned State-wise under Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme of Small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT) of JNNURM containing ACA committed and released for utilisation is at annexure-II.

The projects are executed and Monitored by State Governments. Independent Review and Monitoring Agency (IRMAs) are agencies appointed by the State Government with the approval of Government of India for monitoring of the progress of implementation of the projects sanctioned under JNNURM. The progress of the projects is being assessed through State Level Steering Committee (SLSC) and State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA). The progress of the implementation of the approved projects are also being monitored by Government of India.
