(a) Three Expressways namely Ahmedabad-Vadodara, Eastern peripheral and Delhi-Meerut have been completed. At present, construction work of following expressways is in progress:

(b) to (e) As per the available information received from police departments of State/UTs, the data regarding total number of road accidents and persons killed on National Highways, including Expressways, in India during the last three calendar years from 2018 to 2020 is given below:

Advanced traffic management systems are an integral part of the concession agreement. have been revised recently to include advanced technology-based solutions like incidence detection smart cameras, emergency telephone boxes, CCTV cameras to improve safety of commuters as well as improve the surveillance network for security purposes. In addition, the Ministry is developing way side amenities along the highways to include medical services and also helipads for emergency evacuation in case of medical emergencies are also planned.
