(a) whether the Government is contemplating to start metro train projects in big cities like Raipur, Bilaspur in the State of Chhattisgarh and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) the manner in which the Government or any other agency is likely to invest in the project?

(a) Urban Transport, which is an integral part of urban development, is a state subject. Accordingly, respective State Governments formulate proposals in regard to Metro Rail Projects with appropriate funding pattern, along with Comprehensive Mobility Plan, Alternative Analysis Report, Detailed Project Report etc. No such proposal fromthe State Government of Chhattisgarhhas been received in this Ministry in respect of Raipur and Bilaspur thus far.
