Question : Activities Regarding Culture and Traditions

(a) whether the Government is planning to conduct activities such as storytelling sessions, visits to monuments and heritage sites, organising essay & speech writing competitions, drawing & poster making design, photography contests of ancient heritage monuments, conducting heritage festivals, telecasting movies with messages of culture and traditions;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)to(c) Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) receives requests from various schools /organizations particularly for heritage walks, drawing/painting, competitions, etc. and permission for the same are issued to them as and when requested. Further, ASI organizes cultural awareness programmes on various occasions viz., World Heritage Week, World Heritage Day, Museum Day, Gandhi Jayanti, etc. involving educational institutions, youth organisations in drawing, painting, quiz, debate competitions, etc. Such programmes are aimed to make public community aware about our rich cultural heritage. Further, podcast and some other such initiatives are started under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
