(a) & (b): A Working Group was constituted by the Government for drafting
of the National Sports Development Bill (NSDB), under the Chairmanship of
Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal. The Working Group has submitted the draft
of a Bill containing, inter-alia, the provisions to bring sports federations
under the ambit of Right to Information Act. However, the government has
already issued instructions on 30-3-2010 whereby all the National Sports
Federations (NSFs) belonging to Olympic and non-Olympic sports receiving
grant of Rs. 10 lakhs or more have been declared as public authorities
under the Right to Information |Act, 2005.
