Question : Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System

(a) whether the Government is giving importance to Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS)/Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) in the country and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether many police stations are still not connected with CCTNS software and if so, the details thereof along with the action taken by the Government in this regard;

(c) the name of the States and the number of courts currently using CCTNS data, State/UT-wise; and

(d) the number of courts doing reverse transfer of data to CCTNS, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a): Yes, sir. Use of Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems (CCTNS) and Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) is regularly reviewed by the Government with the States/ Union Territories. Further, the Government has leveraged the CCTNS and ICJS to launch a series of Smart Policing initiatives for States/ Union Territories.
(b): As per available information, CCTNS has been deployed in all the Police Stations across the country.
(c) and (d): ICJS provides access to all its users, including police and courts, in all States/ Union Territories to CCTNS and eCourt data for Search and Query. As per available information, Courts in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana are doing reverse transfer of data into CCTNS.
