Question : Assistance for Micro Irrigation

(a) whether the Government proposes to enhance the Central share under Micro Irrigation and providing equal subsidy for DPAP/non-DPAP areas i.e. 60% for small farmers/marginal farmers (SF/MF) and 45% to other farmers;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether it is true that the subsidy can be availed to establish processing of Oil Palm in Odisha; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): No, Madam. At present the subsidy for Micro Irrigation under ‘Per Drop More Crop’ component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) for Small and Marginal farmers is 60% in DPAP areas and 45% for non DPAP areas. The pattern of assistance for other category farmers is 45% and 35% for DPAP and non-DPAP areas respectively.

(c) & (d): Yes, Madam. In Odisha, the financial assistance to establish oil palm processing units is available in Left Wing (LW) extremism affected districts under National Mission on Oilseeds and Oil Palm (NMOOP). Assistance @ 50% of the cost limited to Rs. 250.00 lakhs for a Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) processing unit of 5.00 MT/hour is given to the State Government Agencies/ Cooperative sector/ Government recognized Farmer’s Associations. The Farmer’s Association / Cooperatives are eligible for subsidy, if the proposal is approved by the State Government and is available as back-ended subsidy through banks for plant and equipments.
