(a) whether the Government has received any proposal in the past to open a new
KendriyaVidyalaya in Sitamarhi district of Bihar;
(b) if so, the action taken/being taken on the said proposal till date;
(c) if not, whether the Government contemplates to open a new KendriyaVidyalaya
in the said district in order to fulfill the long standing demand according to the
need;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Yes, Sir. A proposal for opening of a new Kendriya Vidyalaya in the district of
Sitamarhi (Bihar) was received from the Commandant, SSB Paktola, Sitamarhi in
March, 2018.
(b) 8 Acres of land proposed by the Sponsoring Authority in the Campus of SSB
Paktola, Sitamarhi for opening of the new KV was inspected by Kendriya Vidyalaya
Sangathan (KVS) and found suitable. However, in the absence of a suitable
temporary accommodation being provided by the sponsoring authority, as per the
norms of KVS, the proposal could not be processed further.
