(a) whether the Government propose to launch the first test flight of the
indigenously developed Geo-Stationary Satellite Launch Vehicle
(GSLV) and also INSAT-3C;
(b) if so, the date by which GSLV and INSAT-3C are likely to be launched;
and
(c) the details of the steps taken in that regard?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) The first developmental flight of GSLV has been planned during the
second half of February 2001 and INSAT-3C has been planned for
launch during mid 2001.
(c) The campaign for the first developmental flight of GSLV has
commenced from third week of November, 2000. For launch of
INSAT-3C, a launch service contract has been finalised with M/s
Arianespace.
