(a) the number of applications received in Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in Uttar Pradesh especially in Passport Seva Kendra of Sitapur district during the last three years;
(b) the number of passports issued in the light of applications received;
(c) whether the Government proposes to open new Passport Seva Kendra/Post office in Uttar Pradesh;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) The total number of passport applications received at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK) in Uttar Pradesh upto 29 February, 2020 is 3,29,393 (including 4,498 at POPSK, Sitapur).
(b) The total number of passports issued against these passport applications till February, 2020 is 2,87,274 (including 3,987 passports issued for applications received at POPSK, Sitapur).
(c) to (e) There are 6 Passport Seva Kendra and 48 POPSKs functioning in Uttar Pradesh as at Annexure-I. The opening of new Passport Seva Kendras/Post Office Passport Seva Kendras in various States in the country is an on-going activity and depends on various factors, including distance from the existing PSK/POPSKs and volume of applications from a particular region.
