Question : BRIDGE OVER THE BRAHMAPUTRA



(a) whether the Government has notified 11 km. long bridge over the Brahmaputra to link Dhubri on the north bank and Phulbari on the South;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the status thereof including the funds allocated; and

(c) the time by which the bridge is likely to be started and completed?

(a) to (c) As per Ministry of Road Transport & Highways Notification dated 22nd February-2012, the highway starting from Srimrampur on NH-27, Dhubri in the State of Assam connecting Phulbari, Tura, Rongram, Ronjeng and terminating at Nongston on NH-106 in the State of Meghalaya has been declared as new National Highways NH-127B. Development of National Highways is a continuous process, depending upon availability of funds, traffic needs and inter-se priority.
