Question : Women of India Organic Festival- 2017

(a) Whether the Governments has recently organized Women of India Organic Festival, 2017 in Delhi and if so, the details there of;
(b) the activities organized along with the number of women participants in the festival;
(c) whether the Government has fixed any target to sell organic products manufactured by Women of India and if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether any programme of such kind has been organized in the past in India and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the other steps taken by the Government to boost the development of sustainable and easily accessible sales outlets for women products from the remotest corners of India?

(a) & (b) Yes, Madam. This Ministry has organized Women of India Festival- 2017 at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi from 1st to 15th October, 2017. The theme of the Festival was “Organic Products by Women? and aimed to showcase, support and encourage women farmers/entrepreneurs in India, especially from rural areas. In this event, 322 women participated this year. Participants across the country came together with their very vast range of organic products, such as cereals, rice, pulses, spices, pickles, preserves, oils, honey, tea, coffee, organic seeds, jams, chutneys, wild edible forest products, ready to eat snacks, organic ice cream, cosmetics, skin & beauty care, aromatherapy products, kitchen composters, organic cotton fabric, linen, water hyacinth craft, cow dung air purifier, jute craft, agarbatti, loban and other bio products.

(c) No target has been fixed to sell organic products produced by Women of India.
(d) & (e) This Ministry has been organizing Women of India Exhibition/Festival every year since 2010.The Ministry has been giving opportunities to women producers by inviting them to participate in Sattvik Food Festival, Ahmedabad and on other similar platforms.
