Question : STORAGE OF DEPOT OF IOC

(a) whether the Government are aware that an Indian Oil Corporation`s Storage depot at Moradabad in U.P. exists within a congested town;

(b) if so, whether the continued existence of such a big storage depot poses a hazard to life and property in the even of a mishap;

(c) if so, whether there is a proposal to shift the said depot from town; and

(d) if so, the time by which a decision is likely to be taken in this regard?

(a) to (d): Indian Oil Corporation has a depot at Moradabad which has already been resited and commissioned at Najibabad in May, 1997. However, at present some stock of black oil is stored in Moradabad depot and this is likely to be consumed shortly.
