(a) & (b): The farmers are given information on all aspects of crop diversity, crop production technology of various agricultural and horticultural crops grown in different regions and ecologies through ongoing schemes of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW) besides sharing of information by State Governments, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) etc. in the country including Maharashtra.
In order to extend information/knowledge to the farmers, DAC&FW is providing assistance for transfer of technology through demonstrations, training, exposure visits, publicity and capacity building under various schemes viz., National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Bringing Green Revolution to Eastern India (BGREI), Crop Diversification Programme, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), National Mission on Oilseeds and Oil Palm (NMOOP), National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA), National Mission on Agricultural Extension & Technology (NMAET), Soil Health Card Scheme, Parampragat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) etc. for agriculture sector, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for horticulture sector. The technology support to farmers helps in achieving higher productivity, better management for increasing their income.

(c): In order to strengthen allied sector, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries is implementing various programmes viz., National Programme for Bovine Breeding & Dairy Development (NPBBDD), Rashtriya Gokul Mission as a part of NPBBDD, National Dairy Plan-I, Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme for dairy, National Livestock Mission for livestock & poultry sector and Blue Revolution : Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries for fishery sector for the benefit of farmers.
Further, Government has identified areas of focus to double the income of farmers by 2021-22 as below:-
• Special focus on irrigation with sufficient budget, with the aim of “Per Drop More Crop”
• Provision of quality seeds and nutrients based on soil health of each field.
• Large investments in Warehousing and Cold Chains to prevent post-harvest crop losses.
• Promotion of value addition through Food Processing.
• Creation of a National Farm Market, removing distortions and e-platform across 585 Stations.
• Introduction of a New Crop Insurance Scheme to mitigate risks at affordable cost.
• Promotions of ancillary activities like Poultry, Beekeeping and Fisheries.
