Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE OF DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL AND TRAINING AND DEPARTMENT OF PENSION AND PENSIONERS` WELFARE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS

(SMT. VASUNDHARA RAJE)

(a): As per the information available, 38 officers of the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service, borne on the Gujarat cadre, are on deputation to the Central Government. In addition, 2 officers of these Services are on deputation to the United Nations and its allied agencies as also with other international agencies.

(b), (c) and (d): In terms of the Circular issued by the Government of Gujarat on 8th March, 2000, the employees of the State Government are once again prohibited from participating/associating in the activities of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh and there is, thus, no contradiction in the matter between the instructions of the Central Government and those of the Government of Gujarat.
