Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR SHIPPING
(SHRI MANSUKH MANDAVIYA)

(a) Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) had initially planned to complete the construction work of a Jetty at Narul situated in Navi Mumbai by December, 2019. However the work was delayed due to non-availability of environment clearance from Forest Department, Hon’ble High Court permission for cutting of mangroves and technical difficulties in the alignment. The alignment of Jetty in creek portion was kept on hold by MMB and Mumbai Port Trust (MBPT) due to requirement of navigational channel. Revised alignment is under finalisation. Construction work is targeted for completion by May, 2020.
